LAS VEGAS SEX OFFENDER SEEKS REDUCED SENTENCE

Day & Nance June 19, 2013

Las Vegas sex offender Paul Santiago, who was accused of twice sexually assaulting a 10-year-old psychiatric patient at a Las Vegas psychiatric hospital, was sentenced to a maximum 16 to 40-year prison term following his guilty plea of two counts of attempted sexual assault. Defense counsel argues that Santiago should have been informed of the Court's intent to disregard the probation recommendations of the prosecuting attorney and defense counsel. The Judge apparently agreed with the recommendation of the Department of Parole and Probation in rendering the sentencing decision. Refer to the Las Vegas Review Journal for the complete story
